Woo.

In the distant past I said something along the lines of:

"I'm working full-time again. At another bank. Another call centre. The work is good, the people are good, the salary isn't so good, but I have few choices: I often wish I could shout at my employers, "PAY ME MORE, I'M SO DAMN TALENTED AT THINGS.""

Apparently my employers heard me.

I was promoted today.

I'm happy about that, I think.

Yes.

Yes, I am.

Although, now I'm above most of my peers; it's going to be weird being their superior and not simply thinking I am.

Congrats on the promotion. So what exactly did you get promoted to?

And that was pretty quick o.O

Um... Cheese!
:iconcavebrat:
Thank you.

And no kidding. They told me that I was their prime candidate for the position, which I'm assuming means, "YOU SPEAK FRENCH, PLEASE LOVE US." Although, there are a couple other people who speak French, so I must have simply had better performance scores in the last month and a half.

I've been promoted to Team Lead for the Canadian account, which launches at the end of August. I don't have to take calls anymore starting Monday, but I'm expected to be an expert on product knowledge and to handle upset customers.

Should be fun.

This is fantastic. I'm beaming with pride.

Don't fuck it up.

- JD

PS - You complete me.
:iconcavebrat:
Haha, oh Jamesy-face.

The fortunate thing is that if I do fuck it up, not enough people speak French to understand what happened.

When I applied for the job, they spent half an hour looking for someone who spoke French just to verify if I was actually bilingual. They couldn't find anyone and had to have their only bilingual supervisor give me a telephone interview.

Good times.
